NOTE 1: In general, this operation stamps a PDF file by a PDF stamping file. Each page of the stamping file will be applied to the corresponding page of the file to be stamped.

If the file to be stamped has more pages than the stamping file, then the final page of the stamping file is repeated across the remaining pages in the file to be stamped. In particular, if the stamping file is a single-page file, while the file to be stamped is a multi-page file, then the single page of the stamping file will be applied to each page of the file to be stamped.

If the stamping file has more pages than the file to be stamped, then remaining pages of the stamping file will not be applied to the file to be stamped. In particular, if the file to be stamped is a single-page file, while the stamping file is a multi-page file, then the first page of the stamping file will be applied to the single page of the file to be stamped.

NOTE 2: The stamping page must be transparent ("show through"). If the stamping page is not transparent (such as a scanned document), then the stamped page will not be visible under the stamp.

NOTE 3: Each page of the stamping file will be scaled as needed to fit the page to be stamped.

NOTE 4: The algorithm of this operation will detect and mark by a corresponding error message any input file to be stamped that: NOTE 5: The algorithm of this operation will accept and successfully process any input file to be stamped (other than listed above), even if the file is a PDF with a static XFA structure.
